Hana Yori Dango

I'm totally addicted to the series of Hana Yori Dango aka the Jap version of Meteor Garden.

Hah! Rmb when that was all the rage? I never got to see Meteor Garden but definately heard of the F4 guys (who hasn't?!?).

I've only seen 2 episodes of Hana Yori Dango (at Matt's bbq) and got totally hooked. I've read all the episode guide to the anime series here. Yes, sad me. Ahh... such dedicated fans!

Let me do a little intro:

First you have the main character Makino Tsukushi.

She is very normal and down to earth compared to her other school mates at Eitoku Gakuen which is a very very very posh school for the rich kids of Japanese society. However Tsukushi comes from a poor family who must save up money to pay for her tuition as she got in on a scholarship.

At that school there is a group of the 4 guys. You guessed it! F4!!

Yes I agree they look gay. The guy in the middle is the leader, Doumyouji Tsukasa whose family owns the Doumyouji Financial Group or something. The guy behind him with the white suit is Hanazawa Rui. He is very cute. The other two are Mimasaka Akira and Nishikado Soujirou which are the playboys of the group. Don't know which is which.

Number one rule at the school is to never piss the F4 group off especially Doumyouji. Then you get a red notice which makes the whole school turn against you. The target is supposed to find it so unbearable that they end up leaving the school.

According to the episode guide, the whole story is based on Tsukushi "war" with the F4, mainly with Doumyouji. Then it turns into a love triangle to a square to a pentagon maybe even in a hexagon. They have a funny way of expressing their love let me tell you that.

In the end Doumyouji ends up with Tsukushi and Rui with this other girl.

I've only watched 2 episodes so I couldn't tell that that was going to happen. However it's so riveting that I bought both seasons from eBay. Hehe.

Just an extra picture of Rui:

I think that's the girl that Rui gets with. She's quite pretty.

Can't wait to get them!

Pictures came from this site.

Goodies!

Must mention today is Matt's birthday. Happy Birthday!!

Me and Mei went shopping for his present just now. We decided to get him perfume and headed straight for The Perfume Connection. First we tried CK one and CK be. They used to be nice but not anymore. Couldn't smell anything on the strip she sprayed for us. But CK be was a bit better than CK one.

Anywhooo the lady recommended a whole bunch of other perfumes and we chose the one below:

Hugo Boss: Baldessarini Del Mar

There was this one by Angel Schlesser that smelt like a girl's one. Even Mei agrees with me! Also there was one by Bvlgari in a blue bottle that smelt like liquorice initially. I wished it kept that liquorice scent.

I also couldn't help but to buy Kenneth Cole Reaction for Her! Perfume Connection also had 15% off everything in store so it worked out to be 100ml for $55. Not bad.

Now I've got two Kenneth Cole perfumes. Go Kenneth Cole!

The lady also got us 2 free samples of Danielle by Danielle Steel. Haven't tried it yet but I like the baby pink and black lace design. She's an author so I think it's supposed to represent a bookmark.

My CK in2u free sample from Myer. One for him and one for her. Awesome! (I actually got this last week at Freo Myer but Mei got hers at Caro)

2 scarves from Myer as well. All rugged up for winter!

2 heart necklaces from Diva. Mei has got the necklace on the left as well. Just wondering is it weird to buy yourself heart necklaces??

It was great shopping with Mei. We should organise something with the other girls as well for the end of exams and before she goes back to CI.

Can't wait to catch up with everyone at Matt's bbq.

Just put in this as something interesting...

A Mossimo Vest which is same stripes and colour as my Hey Sister undies.

Buahahahaha!

Beware!

Medical Science is a course that you can really find interesting but sometimes it just asks too much from you. Pretty much to give up your life and do a bazillion pages of extra reading. I guess they are preparing you for the wide wide wide bad bad bad world but how much must you give up??

I know some people study is the only thing they do. They live with their parents, go home from uni, spend 5 mins with their parents and pretty much study. 0_O If there is an organised lunch or something they must know about it at least 100 000 hours before. Right-o....

But hey, it pays off for them. I know for a fact they are one of the high scorers.

Me, I cannot do any of that. I think my maximum concentration time is like 1 hour. I like to take lots of breaks. Some breaks which you don't come back from ^_^

Just getting frustrated at a major I'm doing *cough**haem**cough*. The good coordinator left at the end of last year to go to Tasmania. Whyyyy????????????????

So now we are stuck with someone I feel has lots of experience but just lacked something. For one, he's very unprepared and you can't understand him.

I've been spending around 3 days or more a week at the library. Something unheard of from me! Doing extra reading. At least now I understand better.

So think before you choose Medical Science as your degree. It may seem nice and easy (that's only in first year guys). Second year is shit hard (5 different units for each semester) and third year seems ok for now except for that unit. However I think second year this year is easier coz they changed the structure a bit.

Btw, I think I saw Miss Meshell at the library! She was renewing one of the books I needed from the reserve section. Being in the library pays off sometimes!

Weeeeeeeeeelllllllllllllll, good luck for those have pract exams next week!!
I've got 4! Lucky me!
Study lots k?? But don't go insane.

Tip: Buy a Nintendo DS. Totally destressing

xo.

It Won't Be Soon Before Long

From Amazon.com

For those who listen to Nova 93.7 in Perth, they played the whole cd of Maroon 5 - It Won't Be Soon Before Long at 4.10pm. I recorded the whole program on my MP3 and I'm glad I did.

This album is the second one from Maroon 5. As with the first album, I liked it very much. So much I think I will buy it as a hard copy. Aaahh... they got to me.

Adam Levine's voice is distinct and still refreshing. The first single is Makes Me Wonder and has a catchy tune with it. The other song that stood out was Won't Go Home Without You. It probably be the next single out.

The sixth song Nothing Lasts Forever has some parts from Heard Them Say Adam did with Kanye West. If anyone was wondering. Took me forever where I heard the phrase before.

Highly recommeded that you get both albums :-P
(The other album is called Songs About Jane)

Brand Spanking New..........

NINTENDO DS LITE
in black
With Brain Training (free!) and Tetris DS

They are both totally educational so no regrets :-) Saved $42.84 with that Brain Training game which the offer is only available from Big W. After exams I am planning to get Super Mario so I don't get distracted while I'm meant to be studying. Man! Games are so bloody expensive! $50-60 for a small tiny card.

Thursday Seems to be Shopping Day

Yes I know. I'm trying to stop making it a habit. Resist buying.
But........
Here are some goodies!

Sportsgirls 'The Butterfly Foundation' - helping to save anorexic people

Mary Jane-like Ballet shoes from Just Jeans. They are very soft and comfy! No rubbing against your ankle area.

Also bought a khaki bomber jacket from Jay Jays. It's very heavy for a jacket and has a detachable fur around the hood. Can't wait for the cold cold winters!

Plus an extra photo of me wearing that Mend's Street Market's dress:

Got 3 wears from the dress already so it's definately worth the $120! :-)

Been using my earbuds I bought last week from Myer. They are soooooo bloody good. They fit right inside your ear and without music, surrounding sound is blocked by about 60-70%. When you play music surround sound is totally gone. All you hear is your music and see people moving their mouths. Funny. Obviously in between songs you still hear faint chatter. I've reduced my volume from my MP3 from 18 down to 10. That's how powerful the sound is. Get it from Myer, the Virgin CD area. Can't rmb the brand but it comes in black ($79.95) and white ($89.95).

I shall try not to buy anything next Thursday.

Nail Art

My current obsession is with nail art. Revlon has the limited edition nail lace out for a while. Didn't really want to buy it coz I'm not supposed to buy anything right??

Anyways, was watching some satellite tv with my mum and there was this lady showing the viewers how to decorate your nails. Her's was a bit over the top and to save my life, I cannot leave my nails longer than the end of the meaty finger bit.

For a couple of years now I've avoided buying nail polish because they contain acetone and other nasties. After watching that, I thought about Revlon nail lace and how I had to have it with other various nail stuff. So started eBaying (it's where good research starts!) and finally today went to buy $63 worth of nail stuff from Myer.

Nail lace in Midnight Seduction by Revlon sealed with top coat by Sally Hansen:

So simple yet so elegant!

Different designs from the nail lace.

I also ended up buying a French manicure set by Sally Hansen with a white pen instead of those normal bottle ones. It was the pen that made me buy it I am totally useless with the brushes!

Yes I know my line is crooked. Must practise! (This deformed body part is my toe >_<)

I totally recommend getting the Revlon Nail Lace. The stickers are self adhesive and just seal with a top coat or clear varnish and you'll look like a million bucks. Serious. My fingers are short and uninteresting. With the nail art, you stare at them all the time :-)

I'm also bidding on some nail art from eBay :-D Not alot I swear.

Ezibuy Cardi I was planning to get has sold out in black in medium!! Therefore I will not be getting any cardi for the moment. Saved $39.95! Hehe

People and Shopping

Have a lot of things to write about.
Let's start with uni.
Everyone knows about mature aged students. They are the worse to deal with. Not all but the ones I know are bleh.

Example #1
We use the API 20E strips to identify usually gut organisms that cause infections. These two mature aged mothers were looking at them and adding some reagents to some of the tests. I noticed they missed one so I told them that you had to add something to that particular test. One of them totally ignored me and the other one said you don't need to add it with this identification system. If you add it in one system, you add it to the other system too right? Around now the teacher walked past and they asked him if you have to add a reagent to that test. GUESS WHAT HE SAID???

YES.

Fuckers.

Example #2
This particular lady is always very negative. Unfortunately we had to sit on the same bench as her but on the other side. Every time we have a lab class, she always mention something along the lines of, "I haven't done this for 2 years and I forgot" or "I can't do this". It's usually "I can't do this" or "I'm not good at it".

Well issnt that why we are at uni for?!?! To learn how to do the test before we go out into the work force. Plus she's a mother. Would you like your mother to be this negative? Great example to the kids yeah? -_-

Bah. Mature aged students. Don't get involved unless you have to is my advice. Ask people in thrid year Med Sc and they will agree. Most anyways. However I must mention some mature aged people are really really nice.

To more exciting things!

This is the card I made for Suyuan. I love making cards. Gets your creativeness going.
My wardrobe refashion pledge on my wall:

What I bought today:

Pens from the Post Office for $5.95. I just wanted the colour purple! Check out the big mamma jemma pen up the top. Could totally stab someone with it! :-D

Ok, a little indulgence. $79.95 earbuds. But they were $59.95 coz I had a Myer gift card. They rock!!! Totally blocks out annoying people's voices on the bus.

Frankie Mag! I wanted to subscribe this month but the gift they had was a very expensive coin purse. Don't really need any coin purses at the moment... so gonna wait til the next issue comes out. But this is a very good read.

Emporium magazine by Myer. FREE! (I had a voucher) Otherwise $5.95

Also from Myer I bought a V-neck black cardigan. $39.95 but 25% off Miss Shop knitwear so it was $29.96. Still going to buy the Ezibuy one as well :-P Then I will try my hardest not to buy anymore clothing!! At least now I have one cardigan to wear with my dresses :-)

Just mucking about one night while I was meant to be studying....

Similarities between my phone and Canon camera

Sidetracked

So... I got a little sidetracked. What was meant to be simple as
  • go to Ezibuy
  • order the cardigan
  • pay for cardigan
  • wait for cardigan to arrive

Turned into

  • go to eBay
  • find a cardigan
  • bid for cardigan
  • find another cardigan
  • bid for that cardigan

Then I am left thinking, should I get the original Ezibuy cardigan? It would mean I've bought 2 extra cardigans when I probably need one. Plus I've spent more than I budgeted for -_-" Gah! So much for Wardrobe Refashion Pledge :-(

The cardigans are all different in a way. One's V-neck (from eBay), the Ezibuy is a normal one and the other eBay one is 3/4 sleeved.

Oh well, whatever happens, happens. If I get outbidded on eBay then so be it. Must really put the money towards the credit card. Heh! My portion of it is big alright :-)

One more thing...

I know cardigans are big this winter.
I know I'm supposed to be sticking with the
Wardrobe Refashion for 2 months.
But I really do need a cardi!
Well I could give you lots of reasons.

In the end you don't really care do you?
In that case, I'm getting one from Ezibuy.
It's black.
And made out of 100% lambswool.
Mmmm... warm indeed.
Perfect for wearing with dresses in winter!

Imagine this but in black. Classic no?
